Library Board Member Resigns After Councillor's Comments

February 2, 2020

Fireworks occurred during City Hall budget deliberations as the library offered to withdraw a funding request for a program that could be funded elsewhere in order to reduce their budget ask.  Hurtful words were exchanged and I offered my resignation to the councillor and to the library board out of principle on behalf of its members and both declined it.
